It is definitely one of my character defects to make commitments that I can't keep. In this case, here is no excuse. I can blog every day. I just have to quit writing so much. No one has time to ead all the stuff anyway. Today is the most comfortable I have felt for several weeks re: my eating. I also have had two nights of really good and restful sleep. Last week was insanely busy. Is there anyone out there who is not insanely busy? Not an excuse.
I have been fighting fatigue. Two reasons emerge fron that: -- a) not enough sleep; b) not eating the right balance of protein/carbs.
Commitments for the week:
a. Walk at least 3x.
b. Eat on time and eat 5-6x a day.
c. Drink 8 glasses of water without anything in it (like coffee or tea).
d. Up the proteins.
e. Watch the sleepy periods -- they are always teaching me what doesn't work.
f. Focus on the moment.
g. First things first.
h. Find a way to get some quiet time in at work -- its a really lively place.
i. Remember to take a few minutes for meditation and devotions in the morning.
j. Quiet listening and calm centerdness reduces exhaustion - so do both.
k. Make a manageable to do list that can be achieved.
I just read one of my favorite weight loss blogs and I wanted to cry. She has gained 16 lbs of her weight loss back and hasn't posted. She can't be me! I will prevail! No excuses.
I have been in correspondence with my writing coach: Here is my commitment to her -- on my blog:
Dear Anne: www.annerandolph.com (Read more about her on my Links)
My commitment to you in writing: This month from 9/19 until 10/19 I will: blog everyday (short blog including filling out the data about coffee, water, and what I am eating. I will also write to my book project every day for at least 15 minutes. I have sent you the information about the book project and wrote enough to consider an intoduction to the project. I will use your tips and materials to help me get started. I will interview my biographical subject this week. I will arrange quiet time at my office (lunch period) to write and eat a really delicious and nutritious lunch. I consider both the blog/weight loss project and the book project to be of equal value and actually integrated in my effort to reach my goals. Thank you for your work with writers. It occurs to me that I can't expect my son to write regularly or to be focused if I am not. I have had a good writing day. Please don't neglect me for a month again -- I need some comments, especially on the material I sent you today. I've picked up a comment from your blog and that makes me really happy! I think comments are really helpful. They commented about eating and writing both.
Signed: Wait Loss (You know who I am) Today is September 19, 2010
I picked up your blog at Anne's site, interested because of the name. You'd better keep writing, just as you promised yourself (and us) honey, because I'm going to keep up with you! You are now on my list of go to's in my food blog list!
ReplyDeleteAfter all,if your fingers are busy typing, you're using calories, and if they're busy turning pages, you'll do fine! It's one of the toughest things to do, and the most satisfying at the end of the day!
Hugs, Karen
I'm glad that Karen stopped by. she has an interesting blog that features a mystery series. http://kurtmaxxonracing.blogspot.com/

Your goals are great and your commitment to writing through this blog is profound. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteHere is a funny diet story involving me.
Yesterday I ran in the grocery store to buy milk while my husband waited in the very hot car. On the sales shelf was a small container marked Chicken and Herb Pate. It sounded delicious and was reduced to 50 cents! I grabbed one and then went back to the counter and grabbed two. While my husband was sweating from heat. What a delicious treat for when I got home.
So at home, I looked on the package for the Nutrition Stats. These are required on all food, but I couldn't find anything that told me how much sugar, protein, carbs, etc.
When I searched even more in small elegant print, I read "Canine Pate." I had planned to splurge on my diet. But what I had bought for myself was Pate for a Dog!
Miss Lula loved it! Anne
